Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has once again condemned Israel in a strongly worded statement on his verified Twitter account, declaring the country as the “common enemy” of multiple nations in the Middle East.
His comments come just days after Israel reportedly killed a Hezbollah leader and attacked the militant group’s headquarters.
In his tweet, Khamenei stated, “The enemy of the Iranian nation is that same enemy of the Palestinian, the Lebanese, the Iraqi, the Egyptian, the Syrian, and the Yemeni nations. The enemy is one and the same. The enemy’s methods only vary in different countries.” This statement reflects Iran’s consistent stance against Israel and its regional influence.
Tensions between Israel and Iran have been particularly high in recent weeks, with Hezbollah—a powerful Lebanese militant group backed by Iran—becoming the latest target of Israeli military operations. Iran, which sees Hezbollah as a key ally in its “axis of resistance,” has frequently condemned Israel’s actions, particularly its strikes against Palestinian and Lebanese interests.
Khamenei’s tweet enphasizes Iran’s belief that Israel’s adversarial role extends beyond its immediate conflict with the Palestinians and affects other Middle Eastern nations. By framing Israel as a common enemy, he emphasized Tehran’s broader vision of unity among regional actors against what it perceives as Israeli aggression.
