The President of the Trade Union Congress, Festus Osifo has expressed concern over the arrest of the NLC President, Joe Ajaero by the DSS (Department of State Services). He stated that the DSS told them they were interrogating Joe Ajaero on certain issues but they have not highlighted the issues.

He also highlighted previous instances where Ajaero was invited for questioning by the Police, including an allegation of terrorism financing but he noted that no charges have been pressed. He identified the need for the authorities to be transparent and provide clear information about the reasons for the charges against Comrade Joe Ajaero.

He said in an interview with Channels TV From 3:40, ”We don’t really know exactly the reason why he was arrested. When we made calls to the authorities. The DSS told us they were interrogating him in certain issues. And we asked what are the issues and they did not tell us. But they told us Joe Ajaero is eventually going to be released. But our concern is what is the issue that he is being arrested for.
