The CEO of Think Business Africa, Dr Ogho Okiti has alleged that the Dangote refinery is not receiving crude oil from Nigeria based on a significant contractual issue.
He criticized the lack of foresight in planning, questioning why there were no provisions to ensure the availability of crude oil for the Dangote refinery upon its completion. He lamented that the absence of a national strategy to support the refinery’s operations reflects a broader oversight in managing the country’s resources effectively.
He said in an interview with Arise TV From 7:19, ”The Dangote refinery is not getting the crude from Nigeria and it’s a contract issue. When we were expecting this Dangote refinery, why were there no plans to ensure that when it is ready that this crude is ready? There was no national strategy. We were importing last year and we were importing 3 years ago.
Why is there no strategy to say that we are expecting Dangote to start refining and that there should now be a different strategy to accommodate that? This conversation is beyond the regulatory agency, it should be at the highest level of government. This is a National Asset and when we do not have this national asset, there wasn’t a problem.”……SĒĒ MORĒ
