A Security Expert and The CEO Of Beacon Consulting Limited, Kabir Adamu has alleged that the corpse of the slain Emir of Gobir, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa is still in the hands of the Bandits. He pointed out the impunity of the bandits who even conducted the burial, making the subsequent memorial service a mere formality.

Although he highlights the existence of ungoverned spaces in the North which lead to other countries as the reason for the insecurity in Nigeria. However, he criticizes the lack of accountability among security forces. He argued that the Nigeria’s security structure neglects villages, focusing instead on urban cities while the villages are left porous and vulnerable.

He said in an interview with Arise TV From 3:56, ”The fact are there that there are ungoverned spaces in the North and that ungoverned space lead to other countries. And one of those other countries is not in good terms politically with Nigeria. That to some extent is the complexity of the situation. However there is almost non-accountability by the security forces. The corpse of the slain traditional ruler is still in the hands of these bandits.

They were the ones who buried the body, so the burial that this people did was more or less a memorial service. This impunity that we have been seeing overtime is outrageous. The security structure in Nigeria does not take into account the villages. If you come into the Urban center, you would see robust security presence. Using Abuja as an example, if you drive out now from maybe two to three kilometers, you would encounter a couple of checkpoints. But that is not the cases on the villages. The village are porous and when you add the presence of ungoverned spaces, then it makes it very easy for the Bandits to operate.”….VïêwMôrê
