Rev. Dr. Mina Aprioku, former Director of Rivers State Ministry of Urban Development and Physical Planning, has stated that he was unfairly treated by former Governor Nyesom Wike over the collapse of a seven-story building in Port Harcourt.

In a video shared by Symfoni TV from 2:25, Aprioku said that the incident was not his fault, yet it was used as a reason to punish him during his service. He said that despite representing the ministry at international events, such as the World Urban Forum in Italy and professional engagements in Gambia, he was still subjected to unjust scrutiny.

Aprioku also said that the panel unfairly labeled him as a non-performing town planner, which led to Wike suspending him indefinitely. He clarified that he had to seek justice in court and was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing by the National Industrial Court.

In Aprioku’s words: “The 7-Story building that collapsed was not my own making and I wonder why Wike will use it as a vendetta to punish me for four years in service”
