An Energy and Finance Expert, Daniel Kunle has highlighted the significance of the Dangote Refinery in meeting Nigeria’s fuel needs. He argued that the country’s four existing government owned refineries can only produce a combined total of 20 million liters of petrol per day, whereas the Dangote Refinery alone will produce approximately 50 million liters.
He stated further that the refinery’s output will play a crucial role in meeting the country’s energy needs, thereby enhancing energy security. He identified that the Dangote Refinery’s production will facilitate Nigeria’s transition to electricity. He predicted that the benefits of the Dangote Refinery will be felt in the next 5-10 years, paving the way for a seamless transition to electricity and a more sustainable energy future.
He said in an interview with Channels TV From 4:30, ”The Dangote Refinery is sufficient enough to feed Nigerians at this stage of our development and population growth. Our 4 refineries won’t give us more than 20 million liters of PMS per day, Dangote alone will do about 50 million. So that means he is going to secure this country. And because the rate at which electric vehicle is coming in, the energy balance will just make us to succeed in transiting to electricity. What we get from Dangote refinery in the next 5 to 10 years will help us to transit to electricity.”….Vìêw–Morê
