Iranian academic and prominent political analyst, Seyed Mohammad Marandi, has declared what he described as a “clear victory” for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Axis of Resistance following a 12-day war with Israel.

The statement, posted on his verified Twitter account, came shortly after reports that the United States intervened to declare a ceasefire following the bombing of an Iranian nuclear facility.

“The 12-day imposed war was a clear victory for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Axis of Resistance,” Marandi wrote. “The myth of Zionist invincibility has been demolished. Moreover, people in Iran, across the region, and beyond have moved further toward the Resistance.”

The conflict, reportedly sparked by Israeli strikes on Iranian interests, quickly escalated into a direct confrontation between Tehran and Tel Aviv. The situation intensified further when the U.S. allegedly struck an Iranian nuclear site, triggering fears of a full-scale regional war. In a dramatic move, Washington is said to have called for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further escalation.

Marandi’s declaration of victory reflects a broader narrative promoted by Iran and its allies, positioning the conflict as not only military but ideological—casting the Islamic Republic as the leader of a growing resistance front against Israel and its Western backers.

The reference to the “myth of Zionist invincibility” is a direct challenge to Israel’s long-standing military supremacy in the region. Meanwhile, the alleged U.S. involvement in bombing Iranian infrastructure—followed by a call for truce—has been perceived in Tehran as a sign of both desperation and acknowledgment of Iran’s rising influence.
