Omoyele Sowore has said that any candidate who truly believes they won an election must be ready to defend their mandate with strong leadership and commitment.

He made this known in a video from 23.56 shared by SYMFONI TV during a public event.

According to Sowore, many supporters were ready to act after the last presidential election, but their leaders failed to guide them. He stressed that without determined leadership, it becomes difficult to challenge election results or secure victory.

Sowore also revealed that he had earlier told Dele Farotimi he would join a protest—if the candidate who claimed victory was willing to lead it. However, he made it clear he would not lead such a protest for someone who might later align with the same political forces they once accused.

He referenced the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, noting that Nigerians stood by him because he remained firm in defending his mandate.

Sowore further warned that Nigerian politics can be intense, involving powerful figures. He mentioned Musiliu Akinsanya and Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo as examples of individuals mobilized during elections.

He concluded that any serious political movement must be prepared, organized, and fully committed to defending votes and confronting strong political structures.

In his words:

“The people you’re dealing with were ready to kill for it. They had MC Oluomo, who was killing for it. Now they have brought out Sunday Igboho.” Read_More…
