According to the report from the Nigeria Tribune, a former chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State, Reverend Joseph Hayab commented on the recent protests in Nigeria, acknowledging the involvement of both youth and unnamed supporters.

He highlighted the challenges faced by the country, including difficulties in achieving good governance, widespread corruption, and economic hardship.

Hayab recognized the frustrations experienced by Nigerians, particularly the youth, who observe the stark contrast between their daily struggles and the rapid wealth accumulation by some individuals through questionable means.

While sympathizing with the motivations behind the protests, Hayab suggested that clearer communication of the protesters’ goals and reasons could have led to a more successful outcome.

According to Joseph Hayab, “Definitely, the youth were not alone; they had people behind them. Who supported them? But the reality today in Nigeria is that there is pain. The reality today in Nigeria is that we are still struggling to find our feet when it comes to good governance.

The reality of Nigeria today is that you find someone who could not afford food in the morning but in the evening, he has become a millionaire. The question is where did he get the money from? Corruption has become our way of life. And unfortunately, the youth are watching all these things. The pains Nigerians are passing through are unbearable. The protest could have been a success if those behind it had come out to clearly state their reasons.”….VïêwMôrê
