In a recent interview from 9:27 shared by Arise News, political analyst and Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Dr. Sam Amadi, raised concerns over growing speculation and tension surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the role of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

Dr. Amadi, while commenting on the legal and political disputes affecting opposition parties, suggested that the environment around electoral administration is becoming increasingly sensitive ahead of the 2027 general elections. He cautioned that perceptions of bias or overreach by institutions like INEC could further deepen political mistrust.

According to him, “Somebody told me two days ago that INEC is going to deregister ADC; they are working to overcharge the system.”

He explained that such claims, whether verified or not, reflect rising anxiety within the political space and highlight the fragile relationship between opposition parties and electoral bodies. Amadi noted that when institutions are perceived to be acting beyond their expected neutral role, it can fuel suspicions and political tension.

He further stressed the importance of transparency, due process, and strict adherence to constitutional provisions in handling party disputes and electoral matters.
