Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has announced the end of the illegal sit-at-home orders that had previously disrupted economic and social activities in the state. Speaking in a video clip shared by Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Social Media, the governor highlighted the decisive actions taken by his administration to tackle the menace.
The exact words of the governor read, “when we assumed office, we had the illegal sit-at-home, which is a situation where some gangs of criminals will dictate to us the days of the week we should sit at home and the days of the week we should work.
He further added that, “We did not find it acceptable or even excusable, so we immediately made very consequential pronouncements, and with the support and the unwavering commitment of the security agencies (Police, DSS, Army), your excellency, I am pleased to announce that we no longer observe sit-at-home in Enugu.”
