Controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has reacted to the recent rise in school children abduction.
In a post on Facebook , he stated that the recent surge in school children kidnappings in Nigeria is engineered to serve an unpatriotic narrative of ‘Christian genocide’, but regrettably, Muslim children are also being kidnapped. He likened the insecurity in Nigeria to a burning candle, saying it will burn out, Allah willing.
His statement comes amidst the abduction of 52 students from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State, which is the most recent case, and the earlier kidnapping of 25 schoolgirls from a boarding school in Kebbi State. The incidents have sparked widespread concern and outrage across the country, with many calling for increased efforts to address the security challenges facing Nigeria.
