Tanko Yunusa, a member of the Labour Party, has recalled an incident where Senator Shehu Sani spoke directly to President Tinubu about his past involvement in protests

In an interview with AIT from 44:16, Yunusa said during an event at the Villa, Senator Sani pointed out that Tinubu supported protests and also actively participated in them. He said Sani also mentioned that many people were still in prison for protesting against bad governance and police brutality during EndSARS movement. He added that Sani urged Tinubu to consider freeing those who were jailed for protesting against bad governance.

In Yunusa’s words: “Senator Shehu Sani Told Tinubu face-to-face at the Villa on democracy day that you are the grandmaster of protest, you are the one that advance protest, you are also the one that sponsored protest. And then at this point there are individuals who are already still wallowing in prisons because they engaged in protest against bad governance, specifically the issue of EndSARS so your Excellency please try and free them”….Seë _Morë
