Prominent Nigerian politician and former senator, Shehu Sani, has publicly commended President Bola Tinubu’s decision to establish the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development.

Sani expressed his approval through a tweet on his verified Twitter account, highlighting the potential economic benefits and conflict resolution prospects associated with this new ministry.

In his tweet, Sani stated, “Federal Ministry of Livestock Development is a good idea. Livestock can now factor into the economic growth of the country instead of being a source of acrimony and territorial conflict.” This endorsement underscores the significance of the ministry in addressing long-standing issues related to livestock management in Nigeria.

President Tinubu’s administration announced the creation of the ministry during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Livestock Reform Implementation Committee. The committee aims to implement reforms that will provide long-term solutions to the recurring clashes between farmers and herders. These conflicts have historically led to significant socio-economic disruptions and loss of lives across various regions in Nigeria.
