One of the chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after former President, Olusegun Obasanjo said people grab power in Nigeria and ask others to go to court.
According to Arise News, the former President of Nigeria made the statement while speaking about democracy at the 60th birthday colloquium of the former governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha.
Olusegun Obasanjo was quoted as saying that;
“It is, I am because I can grab. What sort of democracy brings you and you grab everything and then illegally, corruptly and you say go to court. When you know that even in the court, you cannot get justice. It’s not that democracy is failing, democracy is dying and if we are going to make democracy not to die, we have to look at democracy in the context and in the content of Africa”.
However, Senator Shehu Sani has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, he said many people who are 32 years old today were too young to understand things that happened during the tenure of President Obasanjo.
Here is what Shehu Sani wrote on his official X handle;
“It is 17 years since Obasanjo left office, people who are 32 years now were 15 years in 2007; they have very little experience or knowledge of things that happened during his tenure”.
