One of the chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after bill seeking to conduct all elections in one day passed second reading.
The reaction of Senator Shehu Sani was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Friday, October 24, 2025.
According PREMIUM TIMES, a bill seeking to mandate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct all elections in Nigeria, ranging from presidential to local government elections on a single day has passed a second reading at the Senate.
However, Senator Shehu Sani has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said conducting all elections in one day means everyone will be in one boat to cross the red sea.
He said conducting elections on separate days means each candidate will have to paddle his canoe to cross the red sea.
Here is what the former Kaduna lawmaker wrote on his official X handle;
“Elections on separate days means each person would have to hire and paddle his canoe to cross the red sea. Those who opt for the second option are doubtful of the boat”.
