One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after seeing photo of human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi wearing handcuffs inside the court.
The picture surfaced online after DAILY TRUST reported that a Magistrate Court in Ekiti state has granted N50 million bail to the human rights lawyer.
In a post that Shehu Sani shared on his official X handle, he said a handcuff is a golden bracelet for men of conscience.
Senator Shehu Sani stated that the picture of Dele Farotimi reminded him of the handcuffs and leg chains they wore for years in Kiri Kiri prison.
Here is what Shehu Sani wrote on his page;
“For men of conscience and conviction, a handcuff is a golden bracelet for courage. Dele’s image reminded me of the handcuffs and leg chains we wore for years in Kiri Kiri prison with late Dr Beko Kuti and others in the 90s”.
