According to a report by Vanguard Newspapers on Sunday, October 19, 2025, a sad incident occurred in Enugu over the weekend as a 22-year-old lady, identified as Miss Odama Mary Agado, allegedly took her own life after discovering her boyfriend with another woman.
The tragic event took place in the Enugu State capital, leaving family members and friends in deep shock over the sudden loss.
Miss Agado, who was a hairstylist based in Enugu, hailed from Woleche-Ipuole in Yahe Ward, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Reports indicate that she was a hardworking young woman who had made significant progress in her business.
She was said to have recently purchased a car and even rented an apartment for her boyfriend, whom she was deeply committed to.
Trouble began when Mary reportedly visited her boyfriend last Friday and met another woman in the apartment she had rented for him.
The sight of her partner with another lady was said to have left her devastated.
Unable to bear the emotional pain, she returned to her own apartment in tears, where she later ingested a poisonous substance suspected to be sniper.
Family sources Daniel, revealed that before taking the drastic step, Mary called her mother to explain what had happened.
During the emotional phone conversation, she reportedly asked her mother to take things in good faith and hinted that she no longer wished to live.
Efforts to reach her immediately after the call were unsuccessful, and she was later found unconscious in her room.
He said, “She became very angry and left for her own apartment. There, she called her mother and told her what happened. She also said her mother should take whatever happened in good faith, that she wouldn’t live again.”
Neighbors reportedly rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The unfortunate incident has left her family heartbroken, especially considering her young age and promising future.
