Senator Osita Ngwu has shared details about the Senate’s decision regarding the six-month suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. He disclosed that during discussions, most senators insisted that she should serve her full suspension without the possibility of returning anytime she apologizes
Speaking in a video shared by Arise TV, Ngwu said Senate President Godswill Akpabio, however, ruled that Natasha must be given a chance to return to the senate anytime she apologizes. He said if any senator disagreed with allowing Natasha to return after an apology, they would have to officially submit a substantive motion to challenge Akpabio’s ruling.
In Ngwu’s words: “So even when most of the senators were all saying that there won’t be any apology, let her serve her term, Senate President Akpabio ruled that the senate must give her chance to apologize and come back. And if anybody is not in agreement with the senate president’s rule to allow her to come back the person has to come through a substantive motion”
