Senate President and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, has publicly celebrated the graduation of his son, Ubong Abasi, in Uyo, the state capital. In a post shared on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, Akpabio expressed joy over the milestone in his son’s academic journey. “Yesterday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, I attended two major events: the graduation of my son, Ubong Abasi, and his colleagues from St. John Paul II College, and the Akwa Ibom State APC Stakeholders meeting,” he wrote.
Akpabio, a prominent figure in the APC and one of the most influential politicians from the South-South region, served as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2007 to 2015. He has continued to play a central role in both state and national politics, currently serving as Nigeria’s Senate President.
The dual appearance—first at a private family event and then at a high-level political meeting—has drawn attention online.
