A constituent of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Mamman Adavize Abdulrasak, has shared details of the dramatic scenes that followed the senator’s return to the National Assembly after her six-month suspension.

Speaking in an interview with TVC News from 16:42, Abdulrasak explained that thousands of supporters mobilized to show their solidarity for Natasha. According to him, more than 3,000 people came out to march to the National Assembly, determined to prove that their senator had their full support.

He recalled that after a court session at the FCT High Court, Natasha was surprised when she stepped out and met what he described as a mammoth crowd waiting for her. The show of support was so intense that about five to six people who were close to her walked with her all the way to the National Assembly barefoot.

Abdulrasak said this symbolic act showed the heat of the people’s will and their anger at being denied representation for months. He stressed that Natasha’s return was not simply her own victory, but the result of her constituents standing firmly behind her.

He also pointed out that their frustration was mainly directed at the National Assembly for keeping them without a voice for so long. According to him, the people were not willing to sit idle but were ready to adopt “legitimate resistance” to ensure their mandate was respected.

In his words, “Almost 5 to 6 people around her walked with her to the national Assembly without shoes from FCT High Court.” See, More, Here>>>>
