Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Prof Chidi Odinkalu has taken to his official X account on Sunday, July 13, 2025 to advise leaders in Nigeria.
This came after the death of former President, Muhammadu Buhari was announced.
According to the post that was shared on the official X account of Muhammadu Buhari, the former President died at a clinic in the United Kingdom.
According to the statement;
“The family has announced the passing of the former President, Muhammadu Buhari, in a clinic in London”.
Reacting after the report surfaced online, Chidi Odinkalu advised leaders in the country to invest in the health care system. He said any leader who dies in a foreign hospital will be returned as cargo. He said they don’t pass through immigration but through customs.
According to Chidi Odinkalu on his official X account;
“Nigeria’s current rulers may need to be reminded. Those who die in foreign hospitals only get to return to the country as cargo. They don’t pass through immigration rather, we clear them through customs as import.
