In a post on his official X account, Senator Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central, sarcastically criticised the removal of local government chairmen in Rivers State, who were installed by former Governor Nyesom Wike. The chairmen were removed by the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara, after their tenure expired.

Sani argued that the removal could have been handled more diplomatically, saying “you would have just gently unplugged them, wrapped them, put them in a carton, and kept them in the store.” He expressed disappointment at the forceful removal, emphasising the need for a more civilised approach to politics.

He questioned the necessity of vandalism, emphasising the importance of respecting public property. Sani highlighted the need for restraint and responsible behaviour in public discourse.

According to him, “Haba, Rivers Youth, why did you forcefully remove and smash Wike’s statue?” If you don’t want it, you would have just gently unplugged it, wrapped it, put it in a carton, and kept it in the store.”…..Sée Móre
