Honorable Ikenga Ugochinyere, spokesman for the G-60 opposition lawmakers in Rivers State, has reiterated that the seats of pro-Wike lawmakers who defected from the PDP to the APC remain vacant. He emphasized that no court, including the Appeal Court, has declared their defection legal or voided the December 13, 2023, vote that declared their seats vacant.

Ugochinyere accused the pro-Wike lawmakers of spreading propaganda and misinformation to deceive the public and achieve their goals. He challenged them to produce any court judgment that supports their claim, emphasizing that none exists.

In his words;

“These Pro-Wike Lawmakers seats remains vacant, the vote on proceedings of December 13, 2023 has not been voided by any Court and there’s no Court including the Appeal court that has declared that those who left their political party at a time there was no division did the right thing. Is there any such judgements? So why are they trying to misinform the public with propaganda, to achieve what?”
