A well-known Rivers State PDP member, Hon. Robinson Ewoh, has stated that as far as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state is concerned, Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is no longer a member of the party.

In a video posted by Symfoni TV, he emphasized that they have successfully positioned themselves in line with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Robinson Ewoh said that the pro-Wike faction in Rivers State lacks autonomous political guidance and merely adopts Wike’s philosophies and loyalties.

He noted that prior to the 2027 presidential election, Wike publicly expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and vowed allegiance to the APC.

In his words, “Wike is currently serving under the APC-led federal government. He has, on several occasions, pledged his support for President Tinubu and the APC. Naturally, his followers in Rivers State will follow his lead. They do not act on independent conviction; they go where he goes.”

Robinson Ewoh also rejected the idea of making amends with Wike’s supporters, claiming that their loyalty now obviously lies with the APC.

He said they are not thinking about making amends with them because, regardless of what they do, this group of people will continue to support Wike because their spirit or actions will not align with them.

He underlined that the party’s current priorities are maintaining party supremacy and implementing internal discipline. He disclosed that members whose actions have damaged the party’s reputation would face consequences.

In addition, Robinson Ewoh stated that they think Wike is already leaving the party. He disclosed that even close allies of Wike, some of whom are at the national level, have been marginalized.

He confirmed that although Wike may claim to still be a member of the PDP, his actions and those of his supporters make it abundantly evident that he no longer has any genuine stake in the party. “Their loyalty now lies with the APC. As far as the PDP is concerned, Wike is gone, and he’s gone for good,” he added.
