‎‎Opunabo Inko-Tariah, a former media aide to ex-Governor Nyesom Wike, has called on Vice Admiral Ette Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, to account for every kobo received during the six-month emergency rule, during an interview with Vanguard on Wednesday, 10 September, 2025.

‎He said the people of Rivers State deserve clarity on the management of federal allocations and internally generated revenue (IGR).

‎According to him, the state generates over N20 billion every month.

‎He added that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s original budget was N1.1 trillion.

‎However, Ibas re-presented about N1.8 trillion to the National Assembly.

‎Inko-Tariah noted that Ibas has been spending money according to the budget approved by Rt. Hon Victor Oko Jumbo.

‎He expressed concern about transparency in the state’s finances.

‎He said Rivers people want to know how public funds were used during the emergency rule.

‎Inko-Tariah emphasized that accountability is essential for good governance.

‎He warned that the public will closely monitor all allocations and expenditures.

‎He highlighted that managing such large funds requires strict adherence to financial rules.

‎The sole administrator must ensure that every kobo is properly accounted for and documented.

‎Inko-Tariah stated that the people of Rivers State expect full disclosure from Vice Admiral Ibas.

‎They want confirmation that all money received, including federal allocations and local revenue, was used appropriately.

‎”Vice Admiral Ibas will account for every kobo he collected from federal allocation and the IGR. We all know what is happening in the state. Our internally generated revenue is over N20 Billion monthly. The governor’s budget was just N1.1 trillion, Ibas re-presented about N1.8 trillion or so to the National Assembly. He has been spending money based on the budget that was passed by Rt. Hon Victor Oko Jumbo,” he said.
