Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has declared that he successfully delivered his local government for the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded elections.
Speaking during an interview on TVC News from 42:15, the former governor of Rivers State said the outcome of the polls confirmed his political strength at the grassroots level.
“I have determined in my own local government. I’m a member of PDP, I won in my own local government,” Wike stated.
The minister’s remarks come amid ongoing debates about his influence within the PDP and the wider political space in Rivers State. Critics had long argued that his control was limited, insisting he could only sway outcomes within his immediate constituency. Wike’s comments appeared to be a direct response, highlighting that he had not only maintained relevance but also delivered tangible results.
Wike, who governed Rivers State for eight years before joining President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet in 2023, has remained a dominant force in the state’s politics.
