Gogo Jaja, a former leader of Rivers State House of Assembly, has reacted after the Chairman of Emohua Local Government, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, said he will distribute agricultural tools like machetes and files to farmers in his LGA on 18th and 19th of June.

In a video shared by Channels TV from 44:03, Jaja expressed concerns about the reasons behind Llyod’s intention to distribute such tools. He said council chairmen’s tenure ended on June 17th, 2024 and none of them will be in their offices on Wednesday. He said they must vacate their positions

Jaja also reassured everyone that the state will remain calm and peaceful. He said Governor Fubara is firmly in control and has made it clear that troublemakers will not be allowed to disrupt the state

In Jaja’s words: “When a man tells you that I want to begin distribution of machetes to people, what is he telling you? On Wednesday is a working day, you won’t find any of these council chairmen in the office. They won’t be there, their tenure has expired and they won’t take laws into their hands. Whoever is instigating them to cause problem in the state will not have that opportunity. Fubara has said there is no room to give anybody the opportunity of causing problems in his state, he is in charge and nothing will happen”…..Sée Móre
