Dr. Chidi Lloyd, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the immediate past chairman of the Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State, has stated that he will not be leaving his position.

In an interview with Channels Television’s The Morning Brief show from 6:58, he declared that he would not leave his position since Martins Amaewhule, the leader of the State House of Assembly, had implored him and the other chairmen to stay in office.

In Dr. Lloyd’s words, “So this is where we are. The State Assembly has pleaded with us, the democratically elected Chairmen, to remain in office until such a time when the Governor (Fubara) will provide the enabling environment for the State Independent Electoral Commission to perform its law.”

However, in light of contradictory rulings, Lloyd stated that Jeffrey’s statement in the studio is the most crucial and that no one should interpret the law.

He said that lawsuits often begin in the lower court, and any decision that is rendered is subsequently appealed.

He clarified that at this point, the Court of Appeal is hearing appeals for every ruling that has been rendered, including the order, judgment, and injunction.

According to Lloyd, the Court of Appeal parties have appeared and requested that the status quo be preserved. This implies that there will be animosity between all parties, and these individuals are attempting to interpret the law in a way that benefits them…..Sée Móre
