There have been several reactions from social media users after the former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP, candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Gregory Obi commented on the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of many people in Ghana.

Peter Obi’s statement was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

According to CNN, the military helicopter crashed in the Ashanti area and claimed the lives of the Minister of Defense, Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Environment, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and several other people.

However, Peter Obi has now sent his condolences to the President of Ghana, John Mahama and the entire people of Ghana. In the post that the former governor of Anambra state shared on his page, he expressed sadness over the incident.

Here is what Peter Obi wrote on his official X handle;

“May God comfort the families and the entire nation in this time of sorrow and may the departed rest in perfect peace, Amen”.
