There have been several reactions from social media users after the former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP, candidate in the 2023 presidential election commented on the recent arrest of some terrorists by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Peter Obi’s comment was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Monday, August 19, 2025.
His statement is coming after the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu made the announcement.
In a statement that was published by ARISE NEWS, it was stated that the terrorists have committed several atrocities in the country.
Here is what Mallam Nuhu Ribadu said;
“Abduction of the Emir of Wawa and they maintain active links with terrorist groups across the Maghreb, particularly in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso”.
However, Peter Obi has now reacted after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he commended the security operatives in Nigeria for arresting the terrorists.
Here is what Peter Obi wrote on his official X handle;
“However, beyond arrests, we must remain vigilant. Terrorism and violent criminality thrive when justice is not served, when those arrested are recycled back into society without accountability”.
