The Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, during the 2023 presidential election, Mr Peter Obi, on Thursday wished the Director General of the World Bank, Dr Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a happy 70th birthday.

While wishing her a happy birthday, Peter Obi described Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as a woman who immensely contributed to improving Nigeria’s financial stability, when she served as the minister of finance in the country.

Mr Obi went on and noted that Okonjo-Iweala is currently standing tall on the global stage as the first African to head the World Trade Organisation, WTO, noting that she enjoys the confidence of governments around the world due to her honesty, integrity and commitment to the advancement of the cause of humanity.

After making the post, the WTO Director General responded, thanking Peter Obi and describing him as her brother. She went on and thanked Peter Obi for remembering her on her birthday.
