There have been several reactions from social media users after the former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP, candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Gregory Obi commented on the recent issue involving an Ibom Airline hostess and passenger, Comfort Emmanson at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos state.
Peter Obi’s comment was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
His statement is coming after he heard that the management of Ibom Airline has banned the passenger from flying for life.
Reacting, Peter Obi said the matter needs to be investigated properly and justice must be equal. He said the poor must not be punished while the powerful will be allowed to walk free.
“If this young woman, who indeed acted wrongly, now seeks to apologize, who will hear her cry in a country where the pain of the poor is invisible and the dignity of the less privileged is often disregarded?”.
