There have been several reactions from social media users after the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun announced that he held a meeting with youth in Ogun state ahead of nationwide protests.

The announcement was made on his official X handle on Wednesday.

In the post that he shared on his official X handle, he said he held a meeting with the youth and he told them the importance of addressing issues through constructive and civil engagement.

In the post that the governor shared on his page, he said his administration is dedicated to including young people in his government. He said his administration has also established several ministries for youth development.

Here is what he wrote on his official X handle;

“We urge our youth to opt for dialogue over protests, which are being encouraged by unidentified groups. During a recent meeting with various youth organizations in Ogun State, we emphasized the importance of addressing issues through constructive and civil engagement. Our administration is dedicated to including young people in governance, having appointed many into key roles and creating opportunities through initiatives like the job portal and local content law. We have also established separate ministries for sport development and youth development to better address specific needs”.
