Rauf Aregbesola, the former Governor of Osun State, expressed his sentiments following his attendance at a Thanksgiving Church Service and Reception held in memory of the Late Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesa land,

Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, at the Methodist Cathedral in Otapete, Ilesa, Osun State, on Saturday.

Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, a distinguished Yoruba monarch, passed away after a remarkable 42-year reign. He was 87 years old and had previously held the position of Chairman of the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Ascending the throne on February 20, 1982, Oba Aromolaran’s leadership spanned over four decades. In a post on his verified Facebook page, Aregbesola remarked,

“Today, I attended the Thanksgiving Church Service and Reception in honour of the Late Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, at Methodist Cathedral, Otapete, Ilesa, State of Osun.”

He further added, “May his legacy endure.”

The recent remarks made by Aregbesola, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have sparked considerable engagement and reactions from his supporters and followers on social media.
