Primate Ayodele, in a recent Facebook video from 4:14, addressed the renewed public attention surrounding discussions about genocide and clarified his stance on the matter.
He expressed surprise that people now accuse him of avoiding the topic, pointing out that he has consistently spoken about it long before it became a widely debated issue.
According to him, those who claim he never addressed genocide are ignoring the fact that he had raised concerns in the past, even when no one paid attention.
As he put it, “people said I don’t talk about genocide. I said genocide forget it. When I’ve been talking about genocide, where are you then?”
He stressed that individuals who are now loudly invoking the issue were silent when he first warned about the possibility, stating, “Is it now when you say, ‘Hey, genocide. Hey, genocide.'”
He made it clear that he does not support amplifying panic or sensational narratives, insisting, “No, I don’t propagate that. No, no, no, no, no, no.”
Ayodele also questioned why his earlier warnings were dismissed or mocked instead of being taken seriously.
He emphasized that whether or not a situation meets the definition of genocide, what matters is that he foresaw troubling signs long before the current outcry.
In his words, “Either there’s genocide or not genocide. When I was seeing it before now, where are people?”
He pointed out that in the past, critics frequently undermined his messages, labeling them as false or exaggerated.
He recalled how people responded at that time by saying, “They say fake, fake, fake.”
Through his remarks, Ayodele sought to highlight what he sees as a pattern of public disregard for his early warnings, only for the same issues to gain attention later.
His comments suggest a desire for people to reflect on why they dismissed his previous observations and to recognize that he has been consistent in his message, even when others were not listening. View, More,
