Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has stated that he has not yet recovered his smart eyeglasses that were taken by a police officer during the recent protest on the welfare and rights of police officers.
In an interview with Channels Television from 3:00, Sowore said the police officer who took the glasses works closely with the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi. He said he believes the officer was instructed by the Adejobi to take the glasses so they could try to hack into them and access his personal recordings.
Sowore said a policeman met him privately and told him that the glasses were seized because they had cameras in them. He also said the glasses are AI-powered and have special lenses that help him with his daily tasks.
In Sowore’s words: “It was planned, they knew who the person was that snatched the glasses, they knew the purpose. One of them came back to me privately and said, ‘Oh, we found out that your glasses had cameras on it. So, we are going to figure out why you are recording us with your glasses'”
