FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has argued that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s defection to the ADC exposed a fundamental failure of leadership in him.

Speaking from 12:50 in media coverage by Channels TV, Wike said, “What has happened with the defection of some governors who have left has only shown that they lack the traits of true leadership. I liken them to the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party. Before the election, he wanted to be president, and they gave him a platform, and that platform was the Labour Party. When a crisis came in the Labour Party at the very time he was required to show leadership, he ran away to ADC, because he could not solve problems,” he said.

Wike insisted that the same pattern applied to the governors who had left the PDP, arguing that they had used the party as a stepping stone to power but abandoned it the moment it demanded something of them in return.
