Nana Kazaure, a director of strategic communications for the Obedience Movement, has expressed bewilderment at the Edo State governor’s reaction to Peter Obi’s charitable activities, questioning why any leader would threaten someone for helping their citizens. She highlighted that Obi was in the state to address critical issues of healthcare and education, using his own personal resources.

In her interview on Arise News, she argued that the logical response from a government official to such an act should be applause and support, not threats. The fact that the governor reacted negatively, she implied, suggests a deeper issue with his leadership and priorities, as he appears to have a problem with a private citizen supporting the government’s work.

Nana Kazaure said, “What did Mr. Peter Obi go to do? It was about healthcare. It was about education. And when you have a problem with somebody who is doing his own—he’s not stealing money from anybody, he’s using his own personal resources to support the government—what you should do is applaud him and not threaten him.
