Former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reacted to claims that he is suing someone just for calling him names.

Speaking during an interview on The Clarity Zone podcast from 1.40.26, Obi explained that the issue was not about insults but about false accusations of bribery. He said he decided to take legal action because someone falsely claimed that he gave them a bribe.

“Somebody said I’m suing somebody because he called me names. It’s not true,” Obi said. “I’m doing so because the person said I bribed him. I’m not gifted in giving. I have an allergy for money being wrongly spent.”

Obi stressed that he only gives money when there is a service rendered. According to him, his wife knows him well enough to question anyone who claims to have received money from him without offering any service.

“If you go to my wife and say I gave you money, the first thing she will ask is, ‘What did you do for him?’ If you say nothing, she will say, ‘It’s not my husband, he only pays for services,’” he added.

The former governor advised people to always check themselves before reacting to accusations. “If someone calls you a thief, the first thing is to examine yourself, ‘Am I a thief?’” he said. Obi added that if you know you’ve done nothing wrong, then you can defend yourself. View, More,
