The former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Gregory Obi has reacted after Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki stated that the forthcoming governorship election in Edo state is a do or die affair.
According to Channels TV, the governor of Edo state stated that;
“It’s a do or die affair because if they do, we die, the level of impunity, the level of recklessness we see in the opposition party, if they take over Edo state, finished. That is the end,”.
However, Peter Obi has now reacted to the report. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said in Labour Party, elections are not war but they serve as opportunities to present authentic leadership. He said what the Labour Party offers is genuine leadership.
Here is what Peter Obi wrote on his page;
“One party admits to having packaged fake leaders in the past. Who knows what they offer now, perhaps expired ones while another insists it is a do-or-die affair. At Labour Party, we offer genuine leadership built on competence, capacity and compassion. For us, elections are not war; they are opportunities to present authentic leadership and drive meaningful development”.
