The former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Gregory Obi has reacted after the governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum chose to spend the night in Marte.
Peter Obi’s reaction was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Monday.
According to PUNCH, the Borno state governor chose to sleep in Marte after Boko Haram fighters took over the town.
Here is what Babagana Zulum said;
“Marte was resettled about four years ago, but unfortunately, over the last three days, it was ransacked and was displaced again”.
Reacting after the report surfaced online, Peter Obi commended the governor of Borno state for the bold move. He said it is time for the Federal Government to intervene in the insecurity issues in Borno state.
Here is what Peter Obi wrote on his official handle;
“I have always maintained that Nigeria works best when leadership is driven by compassion, competence, and courage. Governor Zulum has shown all three. The Federal Government must now do the same”.
