Reno Omokri, a former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, has alleged that Peter Obi misled the public by claiming he had never seen a presidential convoy with ambulances. He argued that such convoys are standard in many countries, including the United States, Russia, Indonesia, and even smaller nations like Sierra Leone—all of which typically include ambulances in their presidential motorcades.

He stated that while Nigeria is still a developing country with healthcare challenges, security precautions for national leaders remain essential. According to him, the only Nigerian head of state who did not move with an ambulance was General Murtala Muhammed, whose assassination in 1976 highlighted the risks involved.
