APC chieftain and political analyst, Nurudeen Hammanyero, has cast doubt on the viability of the emerging opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 elections, questioning whether its key figures—Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Nasir El-Rufai—have enough influence to challenge the ruling party.
Speaking in an interview with TVC News FROM 2:18, Hammanyero identified former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the most significant figure in the coalition but expressed skepticism about his ability to bring the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) organic votes along with him.
“The biggest pillar among these coalition elements, we can say, quote and unquote, is former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, followed by Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, and El-Rufai. If Atiku is going with the coalition, is he really going with PDP’s organic votes? I don’t see that happening,” he stated.
Hammanyero also questioned the potential impact of El-Rufai in Kaduna State, suggesting that his political influence has waned.
“Is El-Rufai really going to make any impact in Kaduna State?” he asked, implying that the former governor’s defection may not significantly shift the political dynamics
