The special adviser to the Nigeria president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on economic affairs, Mr Tope Fasua, during an interview as berated Peter Obi for criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he also said that the Nigerian economy was greatly improving under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu when compared to the way it was during the previous administrations.

Recall that recently, Peter Obi mocked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for continuing from where former President Muhammadu Buhari stopped, something Tinubu promised to do during one of his campaigns before the 2023 presidential election.

When he was talking about this during the interview (Between 1:13hr to 1:15hr), on Mic on Podcast, Tope Fasua claimed that Peter Obi was not in position to criticize President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, because he (Obi is benefitting from importation.

He said, “Peter Obi is an importer. He was talking about Naira value…Obi is an importer. All those people who are involved in importation to come and dump in this country, they go to China, pack loads and come and dump here, they are not helping. He is the chief distributor of Heinz in Nigeria. Anything baked beans, all these things like the salad cream, is company is the sole importer from Europe. So, we don’t find it funny.”

Further talking, he said, “He made some statement about cost of governance, and I think that…yes this government is aware. If it’s Naira value, let’s leave Obi for now.
