In a recent report on News Central TV, As Nigeria continues to navigate its complex political terrain, Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and a prominent opposition figure, has come under sharp criticism regarding his leadership style and political legacy.
Commentator Peter Piper, in a recent public address, questioned Obi’s capacity to lead a nation as diverse as Nigeria, suggesting that the former presidential candidate has yet to demonstrate unifying leadership even within his own party.
“If Peter Obi says he wants to be the president of a country that is as diverse as Nigeria that is ethnically diverse, diverse in terms of religion, diverse in terms of ideology and you want to be the president of this type of a country, Peter Obi should first show his leadership skills by unifying his own party,” Piper argued.
Piper further expressed disappointment at Obi’s perceived unwillingness to reconcile with key figures within his political movement. “It is a shame and a disgrace that Peter Obi cannot sit down and have a cup of tea. That Peter Obi cannot shield his pride and sit down with Julius Abure and have a cup of coffee,” he stated.
Describing Obi in harsh terms, Piper did not mince words: “Peter Obi is a political virus. Peter Obi is beginning to prove himself as the greatest fraud ever to appear in the political landscape of this country.”
Piper went on to critique Obi’s political trajectory, citing what he views as a pattern of instability and broken promises. “Peter Obi started his political career with a party named APGA. Peter Obi promised he would never leave APGA. That was why Peter Obi became a governor under APGA for 8 years in Anambra State,” Piper said.

However, Piper noted that Obi eventually defected from the party. “Peter Obi left APGA as a fractured party. He left APGA a completely disunited party. APGA was aiming to become a national party and Peter Obi destroyed APGA and went over to the PDP.
