As part of activities commemorating the second year of our administration, I visited Kagarko Local Government Area today to officially commission the newly rebuilt Kagarko Township Road. The warm reception from residents and the overwhelming joy expressed captured the significance of this milestone.
Since taking office, our administration has flagged off the construction of 79 roads across Kaduna State, amounting to over 780 kilometers. Of these, 25 roads have been completed and inaugurated, while the rest are at various stages of completion. These developments extend to local governments that have suffered years of abandonment, underscoring our pledge to deliver balanced and inclusive development.
We remain committed to reaching every corner of the state, regardless of political affiliation or geographical location. The Kagarko Township Road represents more than concrete and asphalt; it is a clear demonstration of our determination to uplift overlooked communities and build a Kaduna that works for all.
This road will greatly improve accessibility for locals, enhancing the movement of people, goods, and services. It is expected to boost trade, reduce travel time, and increase access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. Most importantly, it strengthens the security and unity of the region by making communities more connected.
The reactions from the people have been emotional and heartfelt. Many residents could hardly believe that such a project could be completed in their lifetime, especially given the long history of neglect.
While addressing the gathering, I was reminded of how “people called us mad when we started.” There was skepticism, even ridicule, about our ambitious development goals. But today, that doubt has turned into pride and hope as we witness progress on the ground.
This commissioning isn’t just a ribbon-cutting event—it is a powerful statement that when governance is focused on impact, even the most forgotten places can experience real transformation.
