Deeper Christian Life Ministry General Superintendent, Pastor William Kumuyi, has issued a strong message of warning against rebellion within the church, emphasizing the importance of submitting to spiritual leadership and divine guidance. Speaking during a recent sermon, Kumuyi cautioned members, workers, and even his own spiritual children against undermining church authority.
In a rare video public declaration from 00:26:03, the respected cleric made it clear that he would not tolerate manipulation or attempts to dictate his spiritual direction. “We need to understand, you’re not going to fight your pastor, fight your shepherd, fight the pilot,” he stated. “He’s leading us in the way to heaven.”
Pastor Kumuyi drew parallels between a church leader and a pilot, warning that just as passengers would not challenge a pilot mid-flight, believers must not resist their spiritual leaders. He underscored the gravity of the matter, declaring, “I say it publicly. I reject any member of the church, my child, my son, my daughter. I reject any worker.”
This sweeping rejection wasn’t born out of personal spite, he said, but a necessity to preserve divine order and spiritual discipline within the body of Christ. “Somebody should be under me learning,” he explained. “I reject anyone trying to control me.”
His remarks appear to be directed not only at rebellious members but also at those within the church hierarchy who may be attempting to exert influence over his leadership decisions. He warned against the danger of familiarity that leads to disrespect, making it clear that leadership in the church is a divine mandate, not open to democratic control or manipulation.
Kumuyi’s uncompromising stance has resonated with many of his followers who see it as a necessary step in preserving the spiritual integrity of the ministry. However, it has also sparked discussions about the balance between accountability and authority in church leadership.
