According to the Nigerian Tribune, Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised his wife, Unoma Akpabio, for her kind heart and efforts to help people in Akwa Ibom State. Speaking at a midterm empowerment event in Ikot Ekpene, Akpabio said his wife has always been supporting people through different empowerment programs, whether he is present or not.
“My wife, please feed my people whether I am around or not,” Akpabio said. “She does it because she knows hunger has no political party.”
At the event, 1,690 people received support in various ways. Items given out included mini buses, tricycles, cassava machines, generators, gas cookers, and more. These were meant to help people start small businesses and improve their lives.
Akpabio also talked about politics in the state. He said that by 2027, political parties may no longer matter in Akwa Ibom. He claimed that all parties will support Governor Umo Eno for re-election and also support President Bola Tinubu and himself for their positions.
He praised Governor Eno as a man of peace and someone who truly follows God. “Umo Eno is not just talking about God. He shows it in his actions,” Akpabio said.
He added that his wife’s help shows real love for the people. “Akwa Ibom people will soon show you love,” he told her, showing how much he appreciates her work.
