The acting National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ilia Damagun, has issued a strong call to action for Nigerians to pay close attention to the upcoming Edo State election. He emphasized that the election would serve as a critical test for democracy in the country, warning that any attempt to undermine the process could lead to anarchy. He expressed confidence in the party’s candidate and assured that the PDP is fully behind their nominee, pledging to ensure good governance continues in Edo.
In a striking statement, Damagun urged citizens not to be intimidated, referencing Adams Oshiomhole as a “short devil” from an unknown planet. He called for resistance against any attempts to disrupt the election, vowing that the party would confront any such challenges.
He said in a live coverage by Symfoni from 3:42, “To the citizens of this country, please watch Edo. Watch the election of Edo, it will be a test for our democracy. If they miss us here, then it means they are looking for anarchy. We know they will attempt to do so, but we will receive them and I’m urging all Nigerians, on the 21st of September, all eyes should be on Edo.
With this, I want to assure you that the party is solely behind the candidate. We will do everything possible to make sure that PDP continues to give you good governance in Edo State. Don’t allow any devil, any short devil from Planet we don’t know to come intimidate you here. We will come for him.”
